Your Best Choice For Guitar Lessons in The Western Suburbs of Minneapolis

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the guitar but didn’t know where to begin?  Visiting sixstringmadness.com is a good start.  I have a lot of good info here that will help you along your journey but nothing compares to having a structured, organized and personal set of instruction each week to guide you to achieving your guitar playing goals.

Located in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, I offer one on one guitar lessons to help you begin your guitar playing journey.  Within a basic framework, each ½ hour lesson is tailored for each student.  I specialize in teaching the new guitar player in the genres of blues, pop, rock and metal.  Lessons are taught in my home studio.

You’ll receive the benefit of personal one on one instruction that is organized and tailored to your goals.  You’ll be playing your favorite popular songs within a few short lessons.  I don’t believe in extensive studies in scale theory or hours of mindless picking exercises.  Learning to play the guitar is about having fun and making music and that is what you will get in taking lessons with me.

With most guitar instructors, the instruction ends for the week at the conclusion of the ½ hour lesson.  Not with me.  If you have questions or are struggling with something we discussed in our lesson, I am always an email or phone call away.  I want to see you succeed and not being able to practice what we discussed in our lesson because you may not have quite grasped the concept or forgot how to form a chord is frustrating and doesn’t benefit anyone.

I won’t promise that you will become the next big rockstar by taking lessons with me but if you are a beginning student of the guitar and are looking to have some fun and begin your journey in guitar playing, I can help.

If you are old enough to hold the guitar and press your fingers down on the strings, you can learn to play. Conversely, there is no such thing as being too old to learn.  Don’t think you have any sense of rhythm or cant read music?  Rhythm can be taught and no music reading experience is needed.  My students range in age of 6 to 40 something.  None of them had prior experience and they all claim to have no prior background in music yet their progress has been amazing to watch.

Don’t have a guitar but have always wanted to give lessons a try without committing to buying expensive gear?  I offer guitar and amp rentals as part of your lessons.

What you get from MOST guitar teachers

What You Get From ME

What will I learn in my guitar lessons?

Most guitar teachers teach each and every student the same thing using a method book without consideration of what the student wants to learn or is interested in.

In your first FREE introductory guitar lesson, I assess your current skills and challenges, and help you define what you want to learn on guitar. Then I strategically design a personalized lesson plan to help you achieve your goals.

How will you help me learn guitar faster?

Most guitar teachers teach out of a book and don’t plan anything.  Once they have “taught” you something there is no review or further examples.

I focus on specifically helping you improve weak areas that are holding you back from learning guitar. I ONLY show you things that directly relate to what you want to learn.  Frequent review and additional examples are applied to keep those concepts fresh in your mind.

How will you keep track what I learn in my guitar lessons?

Most guitar teachers don’t keep track, and often forget what they teach their students.

I log everything I teach you in your guitar lessons so I don’t forget.  I also encourage the use of practice logs which I provide to students to help them keep track of their own progress as well.

What if I forget what I learn in a lesson?

Most guitar teachers do nothing to prevent this from happening.

I give you practice materials to use while learning guitar at home after your guitar lesson with me. You can review all your guitar lessons again anytime you want!

What if I need help when I’m at home practicing guitar?

Most guitar teachers make you wait until the next lesson.

I am available via email and phone to answer any questions you have between lessons.

I don’t have time to practice guitar. Can I still learn the guitar?

Most guitar teachers don’t have a solution to this problem.

I give you a customized guitar practice schedule, so you can still get a complete guitar practice in 10-15 minutes. Yes, you can learn guitar by practicing only 10 minutes per day.

Anything else to know about my guitar lessons?

I offer multi month discounts on tuition, referral program that can earn you free tuition and have full guitar and amp packages for students that may not have their own guitar.
